The government are consistantly saying how good the DWP are. how Jobcentre plus are going a good job. We disagree. We are collecting stories about how the DWP treat you. Tell us about th courses you are mandated to go on, if your benefit has been stopped etc.We are hearing stories of people on benefit being treat like criminals. the DWP stops peoples benefit and keeps it stopped, and they use every delay in paying money back. Even when it goes to appeal. If you have issues with the DWP, then tell us about it. Example stories will be made available soon, via case studies. Your names will not be mentioned.
We will not mention your personal details, however we are collecting this evidence to show people that the DWP are not the easy going people the government claims.
You can fill out this form here. Just give a brief outline of your story. If we want further details, we will contact you.

WARNING !! Culture in denial !!

When an entire government and culture is in denial, how do you respond to poverty ?
The mathematics seem quite obvious. With a further rise in unemployment figures to 2.47 million, and another 2.5 million on incapacity benefit, there is over five million people on benefit. The concept these people are going to get work is ridiculous. How to help one million people on incapacity benefitr back into work ? You design the system to make it impossible to pass a medical, then throw them on Job seekers. This in turn is a third of of there weekly benefit cut. Money should be spent creating work, small businesses and changing the small business tax system. Povertyscape will publish ideas and policies about this.

Povertyscape is a new project that is there to support people in poverty, expecially those on various benefits in the UK. We believe that there is no organisation that gives a view point from the people on benefit themselves..
If you have a story to tell, then contact us. We will be promoting new ideas soon.
